Charity work

On Friday the 2nd of June our pupils took part in an all day Dance-a-thon in aid of the Brain Tumour Research charity. The school wanted to help raise money for Brain Tumour Research after having one of their own pupils go through treatment.

Dance Development Officer, Sorcha Monk, who runs dance activities in the Uists, ran workshops for the nursery and each of the primary classes throughout the day. The workshops encouraged creativity, imagination, expression and musicality as well as being fun and helping to boost confidence.

Irish Dancing Teacher, Lorna MacKay, also ran a 90 minute taster session.

The pupils of Balivanich Primary School raised a fantastic £200, by having some great fun and exercising, for Brain Tumour Research!
